Phlox 1.2 is a lightweight application developed by Dead’Soul, available to download at the MysterCrowley.com web site.
Phlox is a simple tool with which you won’t interact much at first. The object of the application is to provide your Windows XP with the same file renaming style that Windows Vista has. Which style is that? If you have Windows Vista configured to show the file extension (that point and letters after the file name), when you press the F2 key to rename a file it will only select the name part of the text and not the extension. This way you won’t change the file extension accidentally leaving the file unusable. Even if you have configured XP not to show the file extensions, you are not in risk of modifying them while renaming a file. In that case, Phlox is kind of useless.
You can activate and deactivate Phlox by double clicking on the system tray icon or right clicking on the same and selecting the proper option on the pop up menu. You can also configure Phlox to load at Windows start up.
